Lady Saints Advance to Green House

The Lady Saints are coming home. Seward beat Butler 48-44 Saturday night in the Power Plant in El Dorado to take fourth from Butler and clinch a first round home game in Tuesday’s Region 6 Tournament. Seward held the Lady Grizzlies (19-11, 9-7) to 31 percent shooting and held their best scorer Abby Fawcett to six points with a box in one defense. Seward trailed by nine (16-7 and 22-13) in the first half but cut that lead to three (24-21) at halftime. Seward took their first lead (28-26) with 13:50 to play and built that lead to nine at 36-27 with 9 minutes to play. Butler cut the Seward lead to two late but the Lady Saints were able to finish off a close game. Autumn Miller led the Lady Saints (20-10, 10-6) with 10 points while Hannah Rotola had six points and nine assists. Seward won despite just four points from Ashlyn Knoll and six from Mariah Lee. Seward had 29 turnovers. The Lady Saints host Fort Scott Tuesday night at 6 p.m. on B107.5.
