Two Injured In Altercation

On Thursday, July 23rd, 2009 at about 8:50 p.m., Liberal Police Officers responded to the 200 block of W. 6th in regard to a fight in progress. It was determined that a fight had taken place between two 23 year old males and a 36 year old male. One of the subjects received a large laceration on his head, while another sustained two stab wounds. Both subjects were transported to Southwest Medical Center by EMS. One was treated and released, while the other was admitted with non-life threatening injuries. A vehicle window was also broken during the disturbance.

Police later served a search warrant at a nearby residence in order to collect weapons and other evidence of the crimes. As a result of the investigation, two people were arrested. The case has been referred to the Seward County Attorneyź??s Office for determination of criminal charges. The investigation is on-going.
