Virtual Tour Gives Look Inside Of Dodge City Casino Construction

KSCB News - April 24, 2009 12:00 am

Gaming officials behind a state-owned casino being built in Dodge City want visitors to have an experience they can’t find elsewhere.

A virtual tour this week at the Dodge City library offered a look inside the $88.5 million project. The casino will be located in the western outskirts of Dodge City in Ford County.

It’s the only state-owned casino under construction at this time.

Boot Hill Gaming president Jeff Thorpe, who’s working on the project with casino developer Butler National Service Corp., led the virtual presentation.

The first phase includes the gaming floor and restaurants. It’s currently under construction, with a dry run set for November and a “hard opening” in December.

Work on the second phase, including a hotel, is to start next summer
