The Seward County Commission met on Monday evening and in order of business, the agreement for Engineering Services between Seward County, Kansas, and Kirkham, Michael & Associates, Inc. died for lack of a motion.
For the 5 State Fair, the Board tabled changing the barrier to inside the rock wall, along with the area East to West between the Grandstands and Poultry Barn, and North to South between the old Beef Barn and Ag Building to allow community members the opportunity to consume beverages while events are occurring in the tent area at the 2026 Seward County Five-State Fair until a new Resolution could be adopted.
For the Health Department, Commissioners approved MOU’s for all contract staff and approved April Warden to sign all MOU’s.
The Commission approved the Landfill Scale Clerk and a deputy in the Register of Deeds office starting wage between $15:50 – $17.00 an hour, and approved the temporary CMB License application as presented by the Seward County PRCA Rodeo Committee.
Seward County Commissioners tabled the discussion on the Revenue Neutral Rate until July 20, 2026.
Approved also was the acceptance of a grant for the Sheriffs Department for Bulletproof Vests.
