Oscar “LeRoy” Bond, 86, beloved brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
LeRoy, the eldest of twelve siblings, was born on March 7, 1940, to Charles Vinton and Lena (Schell) Bond. LeRoy worked for Don Thorpe ‘s custom harvesting and farming, was with the Boles Ranch for over 20 years, and finally retired from Champions Technologies. He had the ability to talk to anyone, regardless of where he was at. He will be missed.
LeRoy is survived by his children, Janet Ann Paris of Liberal, Kurtis Leroy Bond and wife, Tami of Goddard, Kansas and Pennie Elaine Rutherford and husband, Burrel of Sonora, Texas; grandchildren, Jace, Lane (Bobbie), Levi (Zeina), Sarah (Brad), Melanie (Robert) and Cody (Rebecah), Hope; great grandchildren, Weston, Keelie, Emma, Alainnah, Kase, Stella, Holland, Kolt, Rhett, Emery, Luxylynn and William; siblings, Carl Ray, Eldeana Fern Winfrey (Gordon), Charles Larry (Tonya), Edward Lee (Barbara), James Dale (Jackie), Lena Faye Smaltz (Bruce), Karliss Jean Cox, Melba Ann Domer (Ken) and Benny Joe (Sydney); sisters-in-law, Arva Lea Bond, Fay Northern; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Floyd Dean and John Alvin; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Cox, Jim Henderson; sister-in-law, Zita Bond; and son-in-law, Steven Paris.
Visitation with family present will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, May 29, 2026, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, Kansas. Private graveside services will be held at Plains Cemetery at a later date.
