Seward County Fire Responds with Mutual Aid

On Thursday, March 14, 2026, Seward County Fire received a mutual aid request from Meade County.
SCFD sent Tanker 3 and Attack 3. Those units remained in Meade County for roughly 4 hours. During this
time, SCFD also received a mutual aid request from Stevens County. Tanker 2 was sent to help with tanker
operations in Stevens County.

Due to the wind shift, a fire that was burning in Meade County and Beaver County began burning into
South-East Seward County. All SCFD units were dispatched to the West side of the fire. The Seward County
Road and Bridge Department assisted with fire line breaks. SCFD was able to stop the forward progression of
the fire. Beaver County Fire units and an Oklahoma Strike Force assisted with additional fire and hot spots.

Units remained on scene throughout the night, and are still actively on scene working to extinguish all
hot spots. Due to the terrain units are working in the canyons to extinguish any remaining fire. At this time all
fire in Seward County is contained.
