Grass Fire Quickly Extinguished by Seward County Fire

On Thursday February 18, at about 5:15 pm Seward County Fire Department was dispatched to a vegetation fire at Road 20 and Road K. Units arrived on scene to find 3 acres of a slow spread fire in natural vegetation with active power lines down. Firefighters contained the fire at 3 acres. The department responded with 1 chief officer, 5 firefighters, 3 engines, and 1 water tender. No injuries were reported. Cause of the fire was downed power lines. Seward County Fire Department was assisted by Seward County Sheriff’s Office and the electric company.
