44th Annual Cow Chip Days In Beaver OK One For The Books

The 44th Annual Cimarron Territory Celebration Cow Chip Days is now one for the books. Events were held all week long including a Chili Cook-Off, an Old Fashion Church Service, a King and Queen Reception and culminated with a full slate of events on Saturday. On Saturday, April 20th, the day started with over 365 runners in the first ever Beaver Color Classic 5K run. There was a Kiddie and a huge Downtown Parade, and vendors and exhibitors set up at the Beaver County Fairgrounds. At 12:30pm there was a Coke can toss for the kids, followed by the Annual Cow Chip Throwing competition. In the Womens Division,Teri Welty walked away with the title with a throw of 118 ft. She was followed by Savannah Tillman in 2nd and Rachell Ulrich in 3rd. Winning for the Men this year was Lincoln Nebraska resident Terry Ecklund with a toss of 145 feet 2 inches. Taking 2nd was Cole Wiiliams, with James Pratt in 3rd. In the VIP Division, in 1st was Joe Denoyer with a throw of 88 feet 10 inches while Andy Lovato took 2nd. The Team Division saw the Beaver Fire Department once again take 1st with a total of 368 feet 5 inches, edging out Eclipse Trucking in 2nd and KKBS in 3rd. The evening culminated with a concert by Country Music Artist Trent Willmon. On Sunday, Cowboy Church, led by the parents of Bull Riding Champion, the Late Lane Frost, and a Golf Tournament were scheduled. The event is hosted each year by the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce.
