Redskins Work Overtime for WAC Win

KSCB News - October 22, 2013 6:41 am

Is Liberal ready to make another October run. This is typically the time of year when the Skins get hot. If Monday is any indication, they may be on their way. The Redskins beat Great Bend in Great Bend 4-3 in overtime Monday night. LHS built a 3-1 lead only to see the Panthers storm back to tie the game.

Pablo Medrano scored two goals and Eliel Gonzales added a goal before Misael Gonzalez ended the game with an overtime goal. Henry Vela had two assists and Pedro Lara had one.

Liberal has won three straight and four of their last five to improve to 9-6 overall and 3-4 in the WAC. The Panthers fall to 3-9 overall and 2-5 in the WAC. LHS hosts Dodge City Thursday night for Senior Night. The game begins at about 5:50 at Redskin Field. The Red Demons are tied with Garden City for first at 6-1 in the WAC and are 13-2 overall. National Beef bought out the game so admission is free.
