Progress continues at Liberal Water Park

KSCB News - February 26, 2009 12:00 am

With unseasonable weather conditions continuing in the area, water park contractors set the pirate ship into place which is expected to be a hit with the kids when the pool opens this summer. Higby Crane Service of Turpin loaded and set the pirate ship in its proper place Thursday as city officals looked on. An artist is expected within the next week to complete the painting of the ship. A tent will be replaced around the ship so other work can continue on the pool.

The city budgeted 2.5 million dollars for the project and work is currently on time and under budget. The water park, located at 11th and Kansas, is expected to open Memorial Day weekend.
