LHS Honors Athletes at Award and Scholarship Assembly

Zach Stout and Emily Bayouth

Liberal High School hosted their annual Awards and Scholarship Assembly Thursday night in Maskis Auditorium.  LHS athletes received awards and scholarships.  Long time wrestling coach Mike Pewthers, long time LHS Booster Club President Bob Pitts, and student manager Preston Grant were given special awards and recognition.  KLDG's Joe Denoyer received a special recognition for his efforts organizing the Country Showdown with proceeds going to the LHS Booster Club.  Triple threat athletes were recognized after going out for three sports.  Scholar athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.90 were recognized.  All WAC academic winner also went forward to the stage for recognition.  Here are the award winners.

Raymond Boles Memorial Award- Caleb Wehling

Glenn and Joann Cooper Memorial Athletic Scholarship Award- Ramey Petty and Michael Sena

KSCB Scholarships- Zach Stout and Emily Bayouth

Christian Athlete of the Year- Zach Stout and Amanda Collins

Lady Redskin Award (top LHS junior)- Destyni Lucero

Iron Man (top LHS junior)- Ayodale Braimah

Girls and Boys Outstanding Athlete- Justin McPhail and Ramey Petty

Dave Gilmore Hard Hat Scholarship Award- Eric Minjarez and Diana Frausto

Girls and Boys Activities Academic Award- Adebayo Braimah and Ramey Petty

Girls and Boys Sportsmanship Award- McKenzie Wright and Lorenzo Pando

Outstanding Redskin Fan- Prater Family

Booster Club Board Member of the Year- Tracy Hammond

Leader and Times Redskin/Lady Redskin of the Year Award- Justin McPhail and Shaquill Bond
