Lakin Man Injured in Crash after Pursuit

A Lakin man, Damian Badillo , 23, was injured Saturday night after fleeing from law enforcement in Grant County. The accident happened at approximately 10:52 pm 4.25 east of Ulysses on Patterson Ave. Badillo’s 2000 Lexus was traveling east on Road 11, while  being pursued by a Grant County Deputy and a Ulysses Police Officer. The Lexus became unstable and left the road into the north ditch, catapulting into the power line and flipping several times. The vehicle came to a rest in the field north of Road 11 on the drivers side of the vehicle with the power line trapped underneath the vehicle.

Badillo  was taken to Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
