Lady Saints Hand Otero First Loss

KSCB News - December 4, 2010 12:00 am

It definitely won’t go down as one of the prettiest Lady Saints game of

the year but Coach Toby Wynn and his Seward bunch will take it after

losing three out of their last four games, as they came out of Friday

night’s matchup against 7-1 Otero Junior College with a 45-43 win in the

Lamar Classic. Seward trailed much of the first half but took the lead

with 5 minutes to go in the first period and would lead the rest of the

way. Kayla Thomas finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds for the gals

in green while Kelsey Willson (11) and Mariah Lee (10) also cracked

double digits in the scoring column. The Rattlers shot just 13 for 40

from the field and 4 of 22 from the three point line while the Lady

Saints went 14-42 overall and 2 for 18 from deep. Seward moves to 6-3

with the win and will now take on the home Runnin Lopes Saturday night

at 5:30 Mountain Time.
