A More Senior Sublette

KSCB News - August 26, 2011 7:20 am

Sublette expects a different outcome this season. Last year the Larks, after going 6-4, 5-5, and 6-4 the previous three seasons, went 2-7 in 2010. They had only 26 players out for football last year and were very inexperienced. This year, eighth year head coach Steve Simpson has 35 out for football and returns seven offensive starters and six starters back on defense.

Key Larks include senior quarterback Cole Sjeklocha; sophomore defensive back Octavio Arrendondo; senior tight end and linebacker Seph Riegel; senior linebacker Steven Young; junior defensive back Eric Miller; junior fullback and linebacker Avigael Gonzalez; sophomore tight end and defensive end Poncho Teichrob; junior lineman Laramie Lumley; senior lineman Omar Parra; and senior lineman GArrett Tatman.

KSCB and KLDG listeners will hear a lot about the Larks the next week. Sublette head coach Steve Simpson will be a guest of the Sportsguys Friday morning between 7:37 and 9 on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net. Thursday, the Larks will be featured On the Sidelines at Billy’s at 6 p.m. on 102.7, The Legend and on kscbnews.net. The Larks play Friday night Sept. 2 at Southwestern Heights on 102.7, The Legend.
