USD 480 Sets Organizational Meeting

The USD 480 Board met on Monday evening and set the organizational meeting date as July 11th for 2022-2023.

The Board approved the proposal from GMCN Architects in the amount of $23,000.00, for professional services to evaluate the existing structure at LHS, the current water infiltration issue, and to develop a proposal for repair options.

Part of this evaluation will be to ensure that the current building structure will not be impacted and determine if any repairs or upgrades are needed to the structural elements, as proposed solutions could increase the weight load on the existing structure.

Approval was given for the renewal of Navigate Prepared in the amount of $12,360. Navigate Prepared provides a suite of emergency preparedness tools as well as a platform to communicate with users during an event.
Key features include:

-Student information synced from Power School to allow for up to date class rosters

-Reunification of information by student

-Emergency plans, maps, and resources in one spot

-Resources for emergency situations in the hands of all staff members

-Training scenarios

-Threat Assessment Tool

Hhandbook revisions for the 22-23 school year were approved as were the annual software and service licenses in the amount of $23,843.10.

The Board also approved $5,000,000 in listed projects for lease finance using Signature bank for the funding.
LHS water infiltration – $2,500,000
Middle School turf fields – $2,500,000
Total Lease Finance – $5,000,000

The following bids were received from banks:
Signature Bank 3.135%
Commerce Bank 3.300%
Intrust Bank 4.470%

The administration recommended Signature Bank based on the analysis, that the proposal from Signature results in approx.. $47K of less interest paid over 10 years.

The board also approved the Workers Compensation insurance.
