USD 480 Board Contracts to Develop Master Plan

The Board of Education for USD 480 met Monday evening and in new business approved the purchase of Gale databases in the amount of $46,000 for the high school. The Database would allow students and teachers access to journals for research purposes. Also approved was the purchase of Marzano Proficiency Scales in the amount of $34,850 using ESSER funds. Proficiency scales will be utilized by ELA teachers at both middle schools. The proficiency scales articulate learning progressions and inform how teachers plan lessons and assessments.

USD 480 has received an anonymous donation of $113,800.00 to cover the cost of 100 sound field systems for use in all 9 schools. This will support the overall goal to have a sound field system in each classroom. The board also approved for Weber Refrigeration to replace the condensing unit on the LHS Walk-In Freezer in the amount of $14,295.00.

The Board approved the proposal from Architect One to develop a Master Plan for Liberal High School facilities, in the amount of $39,500.

After an Executive Session, The Board approved the Superintendent of Schools Contract to June 30,2024.
The Board also approved Emergency leave for Tommy McClure beginning March 7th for up to 30 days.
