US-54 Crossover Pavement Work Begins in Seward County

Joe Denoyer - May 17, 2017 3:07 pm

The Kansas Department of Transportation will be paving the US-54 Crossover connecting the existing US-54 lanes with newly constructed West bound lanes in Seward County on Thursday, May 18th, weather permitting.
US-54 will be reduced to one lane guided by a pilot car during working hours with an approximate delay of 15 minutes on Thursday, May 18, 2017.  Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed in one day with the existing US-54 lanes re-opened on Friday.  KDOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.
Michels Corporation of Madison, Wisconsin is the primary contractor.  The project is expected to be completed by July 2017 weather permitting.
For more information on this project, please call Greg Adams, Construction Engineer, at (620)624-4451 or Lisa Knoll, KDOT District 6 Public Affairs Manager, at 620-765-7080.
