Two Vehicle Accident In Beaver County Injures One

A two vehicle accident Tuesday evening lands a Liberal man in the hospital. At 5:30pm Tuesday evening a 2009 Chevy being driven by Kade Michael Goodwin, 18, of Turpin, was west bound on a county road when he approached an unmarked intersection. A 1984 Chevy pick up being driven by 48 year old Marino Velazquez of Liberal, was north bound on a county road when he approached the same intersection. The Goodwin vehicle struck the Velazquez vehicle. Velazquez was taken to Southwest Medical Center with internal trunk and arm injuries and is listed in stable condition. Goodwin was not injured. Velazquez was found at fault for for not yielding right of way. Seatbelts were in use in both vehicles. The accident was investigated by Trooper Josh Kelle of the Beaver Detachment.
