KSCB News - November 27, 2012 10:36 am

Seward County Community College/Area Technical School Library’s "The Way We Worked" speaker series continues on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at noon in the Cooper Clark Room of the Liberal Memorial Library. This week will focus on the legal system with Liberal residents Kerry McQueen and Shirla McQueen.

Each week, a panel of speakers will share their memories and discuss their career fields, which have been staples in Liberal. The speakers who have been involved in Liberal over the decades have backgrounds in agriculture, education, legal, retail and business.

Bring your own lunch and we’ll supply refreshments and cookies.

The final program will be Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Cooper Clark Room of the Liberal Memorial Library.

The program is made possible by a grant from the Kansas Humanities Council. The Way We Worked exhibit is currently at Stevens County Public Library in Hugoton. The exhibit will be on display through Dec. 9. The Way We Worked, a Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition, explores the stories of America¹s workers, the culture of work, and the changes in our workplace and workforce over time and across generations. Through photographs from the National Archives, audio and video clips, and hands-on components, visitors of all ages will see how, together, our work makes America.
