Texas County officials confirmed 33 positive COVID-19 tests on Friday, May 22. The tests were for 28 Guymon residents, four Hooker residents, and one Goodwell resident. County officials confirmed Texas County’s count is at 855. The new death is for a male, in the 60-65 age group.

Texas County remains third in the state for total confirmed cases. Oklahoma State Dept. of Health (OSDH) is reporting Texas County at 851 cases with 444 recovered, and five deaths. Not all agencies report data in the same 24-hour period, and officials recognize the occasional variance of numbers in reporting. For more data on confirmed COVID-19 cases visit the state’s website www.coronavirus.health.ok.gov. OSDH is not reporting hospitalizations for our county COVID-19 cases.

Drive-Through testing is offered for FREE by Walmart with appointments made at www.DoINeedACOVID19Test.com, and the Texas County Health Department for individuals with at least one COVID-19 symptom present or if they’ve had exposure to a COVID-19 positive person, but an appointment is required. Appointments are available by calling TCHD at 580-338-8544. Additional testing is offered by Walmart, Specialty Clinics of St. Anne’s, Internal Medicine, Xpress Urgent Care, and Memorial Hospital of Texas County.
