TO THE PEOPLE OF KANSAS, GREETINGS:

WHEREAS, The Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) provides incentives and support to small, high-hazard employers to work with their employees to develop, implement and continuously improve the effectiveness of their workplace safety and health programs; and

WHEREAS, SHARP is administered in conjunction with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) by the 21(9d) Consultation Program in the Industrial Safety and Health Division of the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL); and

WHEREAS, the OSHA Consultation Program assists predominately small employers in complying with OSHA standards without assessing penalties or citations; and

WHEREAS, a well-managed and effective safety and health program is beneficial for both the employers and employees; and

WHEREAS, companies who successfully complete the requirements for SHARP receive a one year exemption from OSHA’s General Schedule Inspections and a certificate signed by the Assistant Secretary of OSHA is awarded to the company as a participant in SHARP; and

WHEREAS, Sublette Cooperative Inc., located in Sublette, Kansas has recently been granted SHARP recognition by OSHA:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Sam Brownback, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF KANSAS, do hereby recognize and congratulate

Sublette Cooperative Inc.

for implementing and maintaining as exemplary safety and health program in Kansas and urge all citizens to join in this recognition.
