Seward Defense Suffocating in Blowout Win

KSCB News - November 8, 2010 12:00 am

Seward put it together Saturday night. The Saints beat a Neosho County team picked fourth in the Jayhawk East 102-59 Saturday night in the Green House. Seward forced 33 Panther turnovers and a team who was 20-11 last year and 12-6 in the Jayhawk East looked outmatched. Seward made 49 percent of their shots and held the Panthers (2-1) to under 30 percent shooting. Marky Nolen led the Saints with 22 points. The sophomore says this freshman class gives the SCCC program a shot in the arm. “Their more explosive,” the 6’2″ leader from Wichita South said. “They’re more coachable. They take criticism. They know what it takes to win and that’s all we need.”

Jeremy Jones added 17 while Tyler Brashears scored 11 and Marquez Patterson dropped in 10. The 2-0 Saints go to Garden City to play Clarendon on Friday and Highland on Saturday. Both games air on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net.
