Seward County Firefighters Battle Memorial Day Blaze

The Seward County Fire Department was kept busy on Memorial Day with a large grass fire north of Liberal near Road 11. The fire was called in at approximately 1:35pm and Seward County Firefighters arrived on scene shortly after. This fire was in open pasture ground and was being fanned by 60+ MPH winds. Several area ubits assisted in getting this fire under control with units arriving back at the fire station a little after 4:00pm. A little over 100 acres burned in this fire.
