Seward County Commission Kicks Off 2024

The Seward County Commission met on Tuesday for their regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30 pm.

The Commission approved a request for a waiver of fees from Southwest Miracles for the Seward County Activity Center for their fundraising event on February 24th.

Commissioners approved a Resolution to participate in Rural Opportunity Zones. This is required annually and due by January 31st of each year. This item was presented by Eli Svaty, Seward County Development Corporation.

Fixed assets and Designation of Bank Depositories for 2024 were approved at the meeting and the discussion of future needs and continuation of services with Neal Coffey, Consultant for the County. Legal Counsel will draft an agreement with Neal Coffey.

Following the meeting the Commission met with the Seward County Fair Board to discuss the changes at the Fairgrounds. Approved was the purchase of the Rodeo Equipment, work on the Grandstands, but postponed the work until after August 24th, after the PRCA Rodeo.
