KSCB News - October 4, 2011 10:56 am

Fire Prevention Week 2011 is October 9-15. During Fire Prevention Week fire departments concentrate on educating the public about fire prevention and fire safety.

To kick off Fire Prevention Week 2011 the Seward County Fire Department would like to invite everyone to their open house in Kismet on Sunday, October 9, from 2-4 pm. The event will be held on Main Street at the Kismet Community Pavilion. There will be fire trucks and firefighting equipment to look at; the SCFD Hazardous Materials truck and trailer to tour; and free packets of fire safety material for all age groups.

There will also be drawings for smoke and CO detectors; and refreshments will be served.

Drop by the Pavilion in Kismet this coming Sunday afternoon between 2 and 4 pm to help us kick off Fire Prevention Week 2011!
