Saturday Accident Sends One to the Hospital

On Saturday, May 1, 2021 at about 11:30 p.m., Liberal Police Department, Liberal Fire Department and Seward County EMS responded to the 300 block of West Trail Street in reference to an injury accident.
Upon arrival, officers located a two-vehicle collision. Investigating officers determined a 2008 Dodge Caravan, driven by a 20-year-old male, was traveling eastbound on West Trail Street when a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 22-year-old female, made an illegal U-turn in front of him. The driver of the Dodge Caravan attempted to conduct an evasive maneuver but struck the driver side door of the Chevrolet Malibu.
The driver of the Chevrolet Malibu was transported to Southwest Medical Center by Seward County EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.
A citation was issued for driving without a license to the driver of the 2008 Dodge Caravan.
