Saints Go for Sweep Against Dodge City

Seward County’s bats woke up to the tune of 26 runs in 11 innings against Dodge City pitching Saturday on a blustery day with winds howling out to right field. The Saints won the first game 9-3 and took game two 17-3 in five innings. In game one, Jared Broadbent hit a three run homer for his fifth of the season. David Cruz added a homer for his second of the year. Travis Parker added a double and a triple. Bobby Doran pitched the distance and struck out eight as he improved to 5-2. In game two, the Saints scored eight first inning runs in rout to the blowout win. Luke Campbell blasted his sixth homer of the year and drove home four runs. Jared Broadbent drove home three runs. Keegan Morrow went 3-4. Corey Collins (6-1) pitched all five innings for the win. The Saints are 21-13 overall and 10-8 in the Jayhawk West. The Conqs fall to 12-19 overall and 6-10 in the Jayhawk West. The two teams meet for a double header tonight at 5 pm with game one airing on Talkradio 1270 and kscb.net.
