Roufosse and Coats Named KJCCC Players of the Week

KSCB News - March 25, 2010 12:00 am

The Seward County Lady Saints swept the weekly Jayhawk

West Conference awards this week as sophomore right hander Erin Roufosse

was named conference Pitcher of the Week and sophomore backstop Marisa

Coats was named the conference Player of the Week. The duo was a large

part of the Lady Saints 5-2 road trip as Roufosse posted a 3-0 record

with a 0.70 ERA and Coats made pitchers cringe when she stepped to the

plate, batting .667 with 5 home runs and 12 RBI’s in the 7 games.

Roufosse threw 3 complete games and struck out 13 opposing batters while

walking just 5 on the week and spun a complete game shutout in Seward’s

9-0 win over Glendale Friday. Coats had a very memorable week, posting

not one but two multiple home run games while notching at least one hit

in every game and poking 2 or more hits in 5 of the 7 contests.
