Red Cross Blood Drive Honors Local Boy With Cancer

KSCB News - November 22, 2016 3:05 pm

LIBERAL, Kan. (Nov. 22, 2016) – Eight-year-old Levi Foreman loves the color blue, learning about history and visiting his grandparents’ ranch where he enjoys the horses and cattle. Levi is also a blood recipient.

In November 2014, Levi was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive brain tumor. That diagnosis was followed by 17 three-week chemotherapy cycles and many blood and platelet transfusions. Now, his family would like to pay it forward with a blood drive to be held in Levi’s honor Dec. 1 from noon-6 p.m. at Friends Church of Liberal, 1650 North Kansas Ave.

“Levi’s an amazing boy, courageous and strong. We’d like to invite our community to attend the blood drive in Levi’s honor, to help make sure blood is available for kids like him and others who might need a transfusion,” said Levi’s mom, Sarah Foreman. “This is the season of giving, so come join us and roll up a sleeve to give the gift of life.”

To make an appointment for the drive in honor of Levi, simply download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
