The Martin Luther King Day Committee will be hosting its annual Martin Luther King Day event Monday, January 20th. The event will begin with a march at 4:30 p.m. from Liberal Memorial Library and end at the Mahuron Park building at 8th and Calvert. There will be refreshments and informational booths at the Celebration.
“Martin Luther King Day was created to recognize and honor the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,” a release from Beverly Williams, committee chair of the Martin Luther King Day Committee noted. “Dr. King’s leadership and actions as a pastor, activist and humanitarian profoundly impacted this nation. He is noted in our history for combating inequality.”

“We continue to honor Martin Luther King Day by hosting this event for the community,” Williams noted. “We hope the community will participate in this event, and we thank everyone for their support!”
