Proposed U.S.D. Budget Would Lower Property Tax

Brock Kappelmann - July 26, 2016 6:02 am

The U.S.D. 480 school board met Monday night and went to work on the budget for next school year.  The board used much of the meeting as a budget work session.  The proposed budget for the school year is $64,210,717.  That total would reduce property tax by .025 mils.  The budget must be published in the newspaper and the board will vote on the budget in August.

The board approved insurance for athletics and activities at $69,598.

The board heard a report from the contractor of the new buildings JE Dunn. They are putting the finishing touches on Eisenhower Middle School.  They have finished the sidewalks and the school will be ready for the beginning of school in one month.  Prairie View Elementary is also ready to go as teachers are moving into the school this week.
