Former Liberal Bee Jay Hunter Pence was selected to the National League All Star team as a reserve yesterday. The Houston Astros outfielder will make his first All Star Game appearance next Tuesday in St. Louis. Pence played for the BJ’s in 2003 when Mike Davidson coached the team. Pence is hitting .302 with 11 homers and 32 RBI’s. Pence played for former BJ and Saint player and coach Darrin Thomas at Texas-Arlington.
