Of 909 Coronaviris Cases in Texas County, 801 Have Recovered

Texas County officials confirmed three positive COVID-19 tests on Thursday, May 28. The results were for two Guymon residents and one Hooker resident. County officials confirmed Texas County’s COVID-19 count is now at 909 total cases. Residents are asked to continue to wear a face covering and maintain proper social distancing to continue to flatten the local curve.

Texas County is third in the state for total confirmed cases behind Tulsa County which has a total of 960 cases with 760 of those recovered and 49 deaths, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health. OSDH is reporting Texas County at 904 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 801 recoveries, and 5 deaths. Oklahoma County has the most confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state at 1241, 1089 recoveries, and 59 deaths. Oklahoma has a total of 6270 confirmed cases with 5,236 recovered and 326 deaths. OSDH reports 974 cumulative hospitalizations for a 15.53 percent hospitalization rate. Today the United States has 1,699,176 total confirmed cases with 391,508 recoveries and 100,418 deaths.

Not all agencies report data in the same 24-hour period, and officials recognize the occasional variance of numbers in reporting. For more data on confirmed COVID-19 cases visit the state’s website www.coronavirus.health.ok.gov. OSDH is not reporting hospitalizations or employers for our county COVID-19 cases.

An investigation into any positive result is standard and persons in close contact with the person will be notified by the Oklahoma State Department of Health and advised of quarantine and testing procedure.
