Mary Louise Shook, age 96, died on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at her home in Liberal, Kansas.
She was born on December 1, 1928, in Great Bend, Kansas to Fred and Florence (Hartman) Brack.
Mary graduated from Otis, Kansas high school and attended Ft. Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. On July 3, 1949, Mary married William Clifford “Tom” Shook, who passed away on December 15, 2015. They were married for 66 years and had two sons, Randall and Rick.
Mary was co-owner of Tamco Services, an oilfield equipment sales and accounting service company alongside her husband. She was deeply involved in numerous community groups including; co-founder of Friends of Baker Arts, 45 plus years at the First United Methodist Church and choir, Mutual Investment Club, Prestige Club, P.E.O. Sorority, Southwest Medical Center Women’s Auxiliary, Liberal Country Club, Petroleum Club, Elks, 300 Club Dance Group,Couples Bridge Club, and Ladies Bridge Club.
She is survived by her sons, Randall C. “Randy” Shook and his wife, Laurie Lindeman-Shook of Argyle, Texas, and
Rick A. Shook of Ft. Worth, Texas,
One grandchild, Jessica Agnes and her fiancé, Keven Reiter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Clifford “Tom” Shook,
Brothers, Vernell, Elman, and Gary Brack.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 1:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church, 116 West 3rd Street, Liberal, Kansas with Pastor David Harris presiding.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to SCCC Foundation for the Tom and Mary Shook Fund in care of Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
