Martin B. Reimer, age 94, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, July 24, 2026, at 7:24 a.m. at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Kansas.

He was born on May 7, 1932, in Meade, Ks, the son of Jacob J. Reimer and Margaretha Reimer, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Benhard Reimer and Jacob Reimer.

Upon confession of his faith, he was baptized on June 15, 1947, at Emmanuel Mennonite Church, where he remained a faithful member throughout his life. His favorite Bible scripture was Psalms 23. He faithfully served his church in many capacities, including as an usher, Sunday school teacher, Awana leader, Youth Leader, chairman of the board of trustees, and as a member of the church building addition committee. His quiet faith and servant’s heart were evident in the many ways he cared for his church and community.

On July 20, 1958, he married the love of his life, Gladys Kroeker. Together they shared 68 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, commitment, and God’s faithfulness through every season of life.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Gladys Reimer; his son, Lin Reimer; daughter-in-law, Laurie Reimer; and his two granddaughters, Jillian and Meagan, all of Meade, Kansas, who brought him much joy and pride. He is survived by his brother Dave B Reimer and his wife Trish of Meade, Ks and many nieces and nephews.

A lifelong farmer, he also owned and operated Reimer Hoe and Trenching, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and dedication to serving others. Over the years, he dug approximately 12,000 graves and trenched hundreds of miles of ditches.

His legacy of faith, integrity, hard work, and devotion to his family will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Meade.  Interment will follow in the Emmanuel Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Meade.  Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Life Bible Camp in care of the funeral home.
