Liberal’s Petty Earns KU Football Scholarship

Liberal’s Reece Petty has made some pretty big receptions in his football career. He had 17 of them his senior year in 2005 at Liberal High School. Petty caught touchdowns in 2003, 2004, and 2005 for district championship LHS teams. But one of his best receptions yet occurred this week. He received word from KU head football coach Turner Gill that he will receive a scholarship. The fifth year senior has been a walk on in the Kansas program. Last year the 6’2″ 190 pound senior was named the offensive scout player of the week. Petty earned seven letters in football, basketball, and golf at LHS and graduated in the class of 2006.
