Liberal Wins at Willow Tree

Liberal won their own tournament by nine strokes Thursday at Willow Tree. With temperatures in the 60’s and light winds, the Liberal golf team shot a 312. Guymon came in second out of eight teams with a 321 while Meade shot a 372. Liberal’s Slader McVey shot a one under par 71 for first. Guymon’s Matt LeGrange and Trey Fankhauser both carded 75’s for second and third respectively. Two Redskins placed fourth and fifth with Conner Warren returning to the clubhouse with a 76 and Alex Colvin with a 77. Liberal’s Lucas Poulton shot an 88. Liberal’s JV team placed fourth. Liberal competes Saturday at Buffalo Dunes in Garden City against Garden, Dodge City, Hays, Great Bend, Hutchinson, Salina Central, Salina South, Guymon, and others.
