Liberal City Commission Meets, Swears in Chris Linenbroker

The Liberal City Commission will meet on Tuesday November 26th at 5:30pm in the City Commission Chambers. With the recent death of City Commissioner Jack Carlile, the Commission filled the vacant seat on the Commission with recent elected commissioner Chris Linenbroker.

The Commission approved the acceptance of donations. A monetary donation from Kids Inc., $2,963 for the Police Department, and $10,000 for the Air Museum.

The Commission approved Taxable Industrial Revenue Bonds for Liberal Hospitality in the amount of $7,430,000. The Commission also approved the 2020 Census Partnership, and the KC Park and Hike & Bike Trail with funding for the playground equipment to come from a Cunningham Foundation Grant and the remaining monies from the Housing and Community Development portion of the one cent sales tax.

The Commission also approved the submittal of grants for a Bus Facility, a Bus camera, and for Bus Stop Improvements.

The contract with Retail Strategies was tabled and the Commission approved the acceptance of the donation Bob’s Diner pending receipt of the title. When the title is received, the Commission approved an amount not to exceed $10,000 to move Bobs Diner to the Air Museum.

The City Commission also approved the Motorola Tower Equipment agreement, the Communication System and Service Agreement, Radio Maintnance Support SUA Agreement, the Product Agreement, and the Motorola Subscriber Lease Purchase agreement.
