Liberal City Commission Approves Two Housing Programs

The Liberal City Commission met last night and approved two housing programs. They approved a first time home buyer program where qualified applicants can apply for a three thousand dollar down payment with the city’s assistance. They also approved a senior housing opportunity which includes weatherization and home security grant up to three thousand dollars with emergency repair assistance up to two thousand dollars and exterior enhancement rebates up to two thousand dollars. The city also authorized industrial revenue bonds for the Halliburton project in the old Tradewinds building. The city approved expansion to the cemetary shop building with 11,528 dollars in materials to improve the cemetary shop.
