LHS Hosts Parent-Teacher Conferences this Week

KSCB News - October 17, 2011 1:13 pm

Liberal High School officials have announced the schedules for the fall parent-teacher conferences to be held Thursday, October 20th, and Friday, October 21st. According to LHS principal Keith Adams, the Thursday session of the conferences will be held from 6:00 PM until 9:00 P.M. Friday morning conferences will be held from 7:45 AM until 11:15 AM . All conferences will be held in the teachers’ classrooms. Students will attend classes all day Thursday but not on Friday.

“These conferences will provide parents and teachers with an excellent opportunity to meet each other face-to-face,” stated Adams . “They will be able to spend a few minutes discussing expectations and student progress.”

According to LHS head counselor, Yvonne Rito, parents will be handed the grade report for the first nine-weeks when they enter the building. They will then be able to discuss those grades and the attendance records with individual teachers in their classrooms.

The doors to the main (#1) entrance will be open on the southeast corner of the building. Parents are asked to enter those doors and proceed to the table where school personnel will be stationed handing out the grade reports. Then, they may proceed to the classrooms to meet with teachers. Counselors will be available in the commons and office to give any assistance necessary. All parents/guardians are encouraged to attend. Please call the high school at 620-604-1200 with any questions regarding the conferences.
