Late Night Fires in Seward County

At approximately 11pm on May 11th, County Firefighters we’re dispatched to multiple vegetation fires on highway 54 from County Road 7 to County Road P along the train tracks and ditches.
Units arrived on scene to find numerous fires with a slow spread rate in short to medium grasses. Fire units from Kismet worked from the East to West, while Fire units from Liberal worked West to East to extinguish the fires.
No injuries or property damage has been reported and cause of the fire is under investigation.
