NEW UPDATE: Grass Fire Residents Need To Evacuate

Seward County Emergency Management Director Greg Standard has advised that there is a large out of control grass fire in the central part of Seward County at County Road L and Road 9 this is east of the Restlawn Cemetery area. The fire is moving East to Southeast and as the winds change, sometimes to the west/southwest rapidly. Residents in the path of this fire are asked to evacuate immediately. Temporary shelter is being set up at the Activity Center.

Any farmers with plows or discs are asked to contact the Seward County Emergency Management at 620-629-5410.
