This was never a close game.  Playing a Colby team who had played competitively in recent games against Independence and Butler, Seward led from wire to wire in a 77-52 win.   Sunday afternoon’s game was Seward’s first in the new Colby Events Center.  Seward wins their 32nd in a row over Colby and their 16th straight at Colby .

The Lady Saints led 20-10 after one quarter and 48-23 at halftime.  Seward led by as many at 26 in the first half at 45-19.  Seward kept their foot on the gas in the second half.  Seward led 54-25 and 59-29 and led 64-38 after three.  Their biggest lead was 30.

Miyah Dubose returned from injury for the Lady Saints and played for the first time since November 12.  That made Seward an even deeper team as the Lady Saints bench out scored Colby’s bench 45-5.  Seward forced Colby into 34 turnovers and 32 percent shooting.

Zhane Thompson scored 16 and had four steals.  D’Arrah Allen had 13.  Sydney Wetlaufer, one season after nailing seven 3’s at Colby, scored 10.

Seward wins their fourth straight and it 14-6 overall and 10-4 in the Jayhawk.  Colby is 6-13 and 3-11.  Seward hosts Dodge City Wednesday night at 6 with Saints Shoot-around at 5:45 on 107.5 and the KSCB and The Legend App.  Equity Bank is the game sponsor.
