Kansas Department of Labor to Present: Understanding Regulations

The Kansas Department of Labor, in conjunction with the Small Business Development Center, the Liberal Chamber of Commerce and Seward County Community College will present a Lunch and Learn to cover the topic of Understanding Regulations. The seminar will take place on Wednesday, January 22nd from 11:45-1:00pm upstairs of the Student Union at SCCC. Lunch will be included in the $15 registration Fee.

Presented will be an overview of unemployment tax requirements including: Unemployment Insurance Tax Liabilities, Process to Apply for UI Tax Account, Steps for Filing Tax Returns, New Hire Information, State Information Data Exchange System, and clarification of the differences between classifying as a worker, as an employee, or as an independent contractor.
