Junior First Lego League Expo Coming This Weekend

KSCB News - January 22, 2014 11:21 am

Area children, ages 6 to 9, are among the record 23,000 children around the world who have risen to the 2013 Junior FIRST LEGO League (Jr.FLL) “DISASTER BLASTER” Challenge. To successfully complete the Challenge, teams of young people must conduct research to discover how people prepare for, respond to, and recover from a natural disaster. After conducting research, teams build a model with motorized parts using LEGO® elements and present their research journey on a Show Me poster. Through research and working in teams, children have a chance to explore a real-world issue to gain an appreciation for and interest in science and technology.

WHAT: 60 children on 10 Jr.FLL teams from Liberal, Garden City, Hugoton, Tyrone, Beaver City, Deerfield, and Meade will display their LEGO models and research projects based on the “DISASTER BLASTERSM” Challenge theme.
