Jaime Minjarez is Athlete of the Week

LHS junior Jaime Minjarez is the Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week. Minjarez placed 13th at the regional meet near Goddard on Saturday. He joins senior Morgan Riggs, senior Juan Carlos Rodriguez, senior Benito Rivera, junior Alejandro Avila, junior Alan Grajeda, and freshman Marco Espinoza at the state meet in Lawrence Saturday. This marks the third straight year Liberal sent their full cross country boys team to state. Minjarez placed 69th at state last year. Jaime’s best meet was at Hays where he ran a 17:11. Minjarez says he plans on cometing in track and tennis next spring. Minjarez has a 3.75 G.P.A.
