International Pancake Race Now Has Nine Racers

The International Race now has nine contestants: veteran racer Tessy Barnett, 40; newcomer Hannah Belton, 23; Brooke Buchman, 27,who ran in 2004 and 2005; first-timer Sandra Nash, 25, last year’s winner Caitlin Demarest, 28; newcomer Lakeria Eatmon, 20; Mikayla Knudsen, 24, who will be competing in her fifth race; Rene Boaldin, 21, who placed second in last year’s race; and first-time racer Summer Parsons, 25.
Ten have entered the Men’s Race: Joe Denoyer, Justin Alexander, Joshua Maestas, Cruz Eatmon, Hayden Akens, Alejandro Avila, Tyson McGuire, Emery Swagerty, Tyson Small, and Bradley Kinser.
The Women’s Last Chance Race has one contestant so far, Jan Nondorf, who took first in that race in 2009.

Sign-ups will continue for the International, Men ’ s and Last Chance categories until 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Liberal Recreation Center, 1109 W. 7th St. (in Blue Bonnet Park).
