A small but mighty group turned out for “American Idol” auditions early Friday morning in Dodge City’s Wright Park.
As the morning progressed, more and more lined up.
The audition process moved quite fast.
People first registered at a table and then were dispatched to perform in front of the producers four at a time.
“It is more than what we expected. We’ve been so surprised at the talent that has come out. We’ve had a really great run and we are happy we decided to do this,” said Katie Fennelly, “American Idol” Senior Producer.
“We want to find the people that never had the opportunity to come out and audition, and today is there chance,” said Norm Betts “American Idol” Senior Producer.
Contestants who made it through this round will get to sing in front of “American Idol’s” executive producers.
If they make it through that, they will be singing in front of celebrity judges.
Contestants from both Wichita and Larned are among some that made it through the round.
