Hugoton’s Hawk Out-lifts State

Hugoton has a state champion. Former Redskin David Hawk who transferred from Liberal to Hugoton at semester, won the state powerlifting crown at Basehor-Lynwood High School in Kansas City earlier this month. Hawk squatted 495 pounds, benched 340 lbs, and power cleaned 315 pounds for a total of 1,150 pounds. Hawk won his weight division and topped all 375 competitors in each lift.
