Hooker High has Hope in 2010

KSCB News - August 18, 2010 12:00 am

Hooker has lost 31 consecutive football games and have gone 0-10 the past three seasons. They are 1-59 the past six years. While the cross country team wins or competes for state titles most years and returns all staters David Perez, Esteban Perez, and Ethan Neal, the football program has struggled. But new head coach Joe Biddle and a young group of 32 Hooker football players are trying to change things this year. Biddle comes in from Red Mesa, Arizona where he was defensive coordinator in a football program which was 9-1 last year but needed to be revitalized when he began coaching there three years ago. The Claremore native also helped start a program in Coyle.

Biddle brings his senior son who was a second team all state player last year. He is an outside linebacker and wide receiver Joe Biddle Jr. Other key Bulldogs include: so. rb/s Joe Bean, jr. lineman Cody Ansley (6’4″ 250), jr. lineman Guerrero Garcia (6’3″ 230), and so. te/olb Payson Slater (6’1″ 200). The Bulldogs were featured during the Sportsguys Wednesday morning.
